8 Days in the Merzouga Desert from Tangier

Day 1 : Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

Today we drive through the Rif Mountains and Tetoun town to enjoy the beautiful mountain views until we reach one of the stunning Chefchaouan villages at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen medina had a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky and handicraft stores, rooftop restaurants and cafes where you can spend the night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.

Day 2 : Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After tasty breakfast at the riad our journey to Volubilis crossing Via Ouazan Rif and other villages. In Volubilis we will discover the Roman ruins and learn about the Moroocan history, then we will head to the city of Meknes (in the 17th century heritage) where we will stop for lunch and discover the historic walls of medina, Bab El Mansour and enjoy a visit of Moulay Ismail sanctuary. In the afternoon we will head to the city of Fes where we will spend the night.

Day 3 : Guided Tour Fes

Today we will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, strolling through its alleys and small streets. Our tour starts by visiting the Royal Palace, the gate of the Jewish barracks, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will make sure that you visit all the sites of historical and cultural interest, including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the tanneries, the Attarine Museum and Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, visit the tile cooperative and then enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the entire Medina of Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – ERFOUD – Merzouga

After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel through Merzouga Errachidia and Erfoud. You will travel through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. You will observe how the landscape changes to reveal desert tracks as you approach the town of Errachidia, here you will have the opportunity to have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality. Afterwards, we will travel along the Ziz valley, stopping to enjoy panoramic views along the way to Erfoud (famous fossils) and the town of Rissani (with its famous souk). We arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon and welcome you with a glass of mint tea before starting your camel ride to spend a night in the desert, camp with Berber music and sandboarding.

Day 5 : Merzouga – Toudgha Gorges – Dades Valley

We get up early to see the spectacle of the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi Dunes before making our way back to the hotel by camels. After breakfast and shower we will drive through the Saghro Mountains and take a short ride through Todra Gorges before arriving in Dades Valley for dinner and overnight. We spend a night in dades gorges, in local riad hotel.

Day 6 : Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. This route through the Dades Valley is the road of the Thousand Kasbahs. We will visit the film city of Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-hami El Glaoui (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE). We will then drive through the High Atlas Mountains and enjoy panoramic views and attractive Berber villages along the way until we arrive in Marrakech, where we spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 7 : Guided tour in Marrakech

Today we will start exploring Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. We will make sure you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest. These include the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palacel. After lunch at a local restaurant near the famous square, you will walk through the souks and you can also buy souvenirs or enjoy the art of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover the city by yourself.

Day 8 : Transfer to the airport

Today, depending on your flight, you will be transferred to the airport to attend your flight.
