3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley (Approx. 360 km)
Your 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour starts with pickup from your accommodation at 8:30 AM.
We begin our journey by driving through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, located at 2,260 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning panoramic landscapes and views of traditional Berber villages built into the mountains.
There will be a stop for coffee and the opportunity to visit a traditional Berber argan oil cooperative, where you can learn about local products and ancestral production methods.
We continue toward the famous Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic ksars and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fortified village has served as a filming location for many international productions, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones.
After free time for lunch and exploring the kasbah, we continue toward Ouarzazate, often called “The Hollywood of Africa,” before driving through the Valley of Roses and Skoura Oasis.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert (Approx. 275 km)
After breakfast, we continue our adventure toward the Sahara Desert.
Our first stop will be the spectacular Todra Gorges, famous for their massive canyon walls that reach up to 300 meters high. This natural wonder is one of the most impressive landscapes in southern Morocco and a favorite destination for climbers and photographers.
You will have free time to walk through the gorge, relax by the river, and take unforgettable photos.
We continue through Berber villages and desert landscapes toward Tinejdad for lunch at a local restaurant. Later, we pass through Erfoud, known for its fossils and date palm groves.
Before arriving in Merzouga, we visit Rissani, a historic desert town famous for its traditional souk and authentic atmosphere. Rissani was once an important caravan trading center connecting Morocco with sub-Saharan Africa.
Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. After a short rest, your unforgettable camel trekking experience begins across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
During the camel ride, you will stop to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Sahara Desert.

Along the route, we cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains and make several scenic stops for photos, coffee, and relaxation.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant during the journey.
