8 Days From Casablanca to the Merzouga Desert

Day 1 : Casablanca – Rabat – Fez

Pick up at the airport or at the riad, depending on what you wish. Once we finish in Casablanca, we will continue the tour to Rabat, capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. Where you will visit places of interest such as: the Royal Palace, the Kasbah of the Oudaya (SXIII), the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, the Hassan Tower … We continue to Fez. At the end of the day, we will take you to your accommodation, where you will have dinner and a place to sleep.

Day 2 : Explore Fes

One day discovery of the city of Fes – cultural capital and the oldest of the Imperial Cities of the country, which was for centuries the cultural and religious center of the western Islamic world, and which was declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site, its labyrinthine streets structured by guilds of potters, dyers … and the bustle of its people will transport you back centuries, because it is a medieval city that endures in time, 1200 years after its foundation the monuments that we will be able to visit: Medersas: Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin. Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque, lunch in a typical restaurant in the Medina and free afternoon. Overnight in hotel or hotel / riad.

Day 3 : Fez – Merzouga

Departure to Merzouga where we will visit an enchanted forest in Azrou enjoying watching the little monkeys as they climb through the cedar trees. Then we will continue through Midelt, Ziz Valley and Errachidia. Arrival in Merzouga where we can feel the peace and tranquility of the desert, contemplate the spectacular sunsets and the fascinating sky of stars. Overnight in a lodge near the dunes.

Day 4 : Excursion 4×4 in the Erg Chebbi Desert – Overnight in Capamento

After breakfast begins the great tour in the dunes, through many villages of the Sahara, one of them Khamlia, where we will enjoy the Gnawa music, then we will visit the desert nomads in their haimas, discovering a new sense of life…… In the afternoon we will take a ride with the camels to go into the desert and spend the night in the middle of the dunes in a nomadic haima. We will enjoy listening to music, the rhythms of the drums played by the Berbers of the desert.

Day 5 : Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges

We will get up early to see the beautiful sunrise and to climb the dunes, then we will ride camels to return to the lodge where we will have breakfast. Continue to the gorges via Rissani where we will stop to visit the traditional market and then continue to the Todra Gorges. Night in the middle of the Gorges.

Day 6 : Todra Gorges – Kelaa Magona – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast we will take a walk in the Gorges and visit some nomad caves. We continue through El Kelaa Magona, Valley of Roses and the oasis of Skoura to reach Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Departure to Ait Ben Haddou to visit this world heritage site. We continue the journey through the High Atlas and the Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah of Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech.

Day 7 : Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech

Today we head to the Ouzoud waterfalls for a 1 day excursion. The Ouzoud waterfalls are waterfalls or waterfalls located in the central part of Morocco, considered the highest and most beautiful in the country. Located in the small village of Tanaghmeilt, in the Middle Atlas, in the province of Azilal, about 120 km from Beni Mellal and 150 km from Marrakech, they are a major tourist attraction. They rise from the Ouzoud river and have an approximate height of about 110 m.

Day 8 : Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech

Today we head to Essaouira for a 1 day excursion. Essaouira is the capital of the homonymous province, in the region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Hauz. With about 70,000 inhabitants, its medina or historic center is listed by Unesco as a World Heritage Site since 2001. The economy of the place revolves around fishing, the timber, textile and food industry, and the trade of handicrafts, marquetry and jewelry in particular. It has a gas pipeline and an aerodrome. Essaouira hosts the annual Essaouira Gnawa Festival which attracts thousands of visitors.
