Detail of the route

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate:

Pick up at Marrakech airport and departure to Ouarzazate passing through a road full of beautiful Kasbah. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified enclosure within a walled town that we will recognize, as this citadel has been the scene of such famous films as Gladiator, Babel, Sahara, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, among many others. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Rissani – Merzouga (Desert):

Departure to Merzouga from Ouarzazate, crossing the Dades valley, visiting the Todra Gorges, reaching the great palm grove of Rissani and from there to the golden dunes of Merzouga. Lunch and overnight in our lodge, located at the foot of the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Haimas in the desert:

Finally the desert! We enjoy the magic of the dunes. In the morning, we have breakfast, take the 4×4 and go to know these lands: the lake or Dayet Srji full of flamingos at certain times of the year. We will visit a family of Gnawa or Bambara musicians, descendants of slaves from Black Africa, who will delight us with their traditional music. We will go into the dunes, where the Paris-Dakar Rally used to pass. We will meet some nomadic families who live as they have lived generation after generation in this sea of sand and stone, an authentic adventure!!!. We return to the hotel and leave the 4×4 there, in the afternoon we will ride the camels and always accompanied by the nomad we will see how the evening falls on their backs taking us to the heart of the desert where we will contemplate a unique and unforgettable sunset. Dinner in Haimas in the middle of the desert.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ouzina – Oasis Hamada:

We will get up early to admire the sunrise between the dunes. We return to Merzouga and after a shower and a good breakfast, we pick up the 4×4 and leave for Zagora by the old track of the Paris Dakar, leaving behind the Erg (sand desert) and entering the desert of the dark stones (Hamada and Reg), crossing Berber villages where authentic nomads live, oasis, Oueds (rivers), and desert plateaus to reach Ouzina where we will visit the construction project of a well in which we participate with the NGO Friends for Africa. We will have lunch and from there direct to sleep in an oasis in the middle of the Hamada.

Day 5: Oasis – Ait Ben Haddou:

We will have breakfast and leave for Ait Ben Haddou, passing through a huge Hamada and stopping in Fezzou where we can also contemplate our work of cooperation that we have carried out with the local association, We continue towards Ouarzazate until we reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987), a fortified enclosure within a walled town that you will recognize, as this citadel has been the setting for such famous films as Gladiator, Sahara, Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, among many others. Near this Kasbah we will spend the night.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech:

We have breakfast and leave for Marrakech, crossing the Atlas and arriving in the early afternoon. You will have time in Marrakech to enjoy the lively life that overflows the DJemaa el Fna Square. Lunch in the square and overnight at RIAD.

Day 7: Marrakech – Airport:

Breakfast, and at the agreed time, we will transfer to the airport and end of the trip.
